By creating an account or using the Crunchy app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
Crunchy is a mobile application that helps users identify and understand product ingredients through barcode and image scanning, provides curated recipes for DIY products, lets users build lists of favorite products and recipes, and allows users to personalize their experience based on their values and preferences.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
Product analysis is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical, health, or safety advice. Scores and ratings are generated using AI (Google Gemini) and product data from third-party databases, including Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts (used under the Open Database License), and may not always be complete or perfectly accurate. Always consult product labels directly and seek professional advice for health-related decisions. We are not liable for any decisions made based on scan results.
You retain ownership of content you post (text, images, reviews). By posting content, you grant Crunchy a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it within the app. You agree not to post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.
Recipes and DIY instructions are provided for informational and educational purposes. Always test products on a small area first. Crunchy is not responsible for any adverse reactions, injuries, or damages resulting from following recipes or instructions in the app.
Crunchy Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription:
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same rate.
You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Free tier users receive 5 scans per day, access to ingredient lists, and recipe browsing. Pro subscribers receive unlimited scans, the ability to save products and build lists, search any product, and priority support.
The Crunchy app, including its design, features, content, and branding, is owned by Crunchy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the app.
Crunchy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Active subscriptions can be cancelled through your Apple ID account settings.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation by contacting us. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable law, except where prohibited. You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
